Jaisalmer

We really didn't sleep on Monday night, so we were up early to eat a full breakfast (eggs, beans, potatoes) before hopping back into the car and driving to Jaisalmer. It was a long hot (42 degrees) drive through the desert, and we were definitely happy to get to the Fort. Cars are not allowed inside, so we put on our backpacks and hiked up to our hotel room which was built into the walls of the 850 year old fort. The room was quite shocking! and I really didn't want to stay as the floor was mud, the washroom was a dark long thin cave, there was no airconditioning or screens on the windows and our furniture consisted of two lawn chairs and a very basic wooden table... Unfortunately, Ian was really not feeling well at this point, so we decided to stay so that he could sleep for a couple of hours. I went to explore the shopping around the fort while Ian slept, but not feeling to well myself I went back to join him for an extremely uncomfortable sleep. Around 4:30pm we ventured out together to explore and we enjoyed listening to the locals practicing for their anniversary celebrations that evening. Ian's tummy started to get worse however, and we didn't quite make it back to the hotel before he showed me (and some other passers by) what he had for breakfast. We spent the rest of the night in the awful hotel room.
